Probe into Truth about "Cheonan" Case Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- The "Joint Action for Probe into the Truth about Warship 'Cheonan' Case and Peace on the Korean Peninsula" of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on July 29 demanding probe into the truth about the case of the warship sinking.

The organization at the press conference referred to the fact that an investigation group of Russia clarified some days ago that the warship was sunk not due to a "torpedo attack by the north" but by the explosion of a mine.

This clearly testified to the fact that the "decisive evidence" produced by the authorities was irrelevant to the case and rendered the "story about a torpedo attack by the north" hypocritical, it asserted.

In this regard the "Ministry of Defense" unilaterally refuted the above-said assertion without any scientific and objective reason but such attitude only increases the suspicion about the above-said results, it added.

The organization recalled that voices skeptical about the "results of investigation" announced by the "joint investigation team" are also heard from among officials of the "government".

It urged the Lee Myung Bak "government" and the ruling party to respond to the call of various circles for the "inspection of state administration" and opt for joint investigation with the north.
