Floral Tribute Paid to Martyrs and Memorial Tower
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid on the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and floral baskets placed before the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower on Tuesday on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Seen on the wreath-laying stands were wreaths sent by Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

Present at the ceremonies were senior party, army and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, KPA service persons and those of the Korean People's Interior Forces and working people in the city.

Wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet were laid on the stands of the cemeteries and a floral basket in the joint name of the C.C., the WPK and the Central Military Commission of the WPK placed before the main sculpture Victory of the tower.

Also laid on the cemeteries and the memorial tower were wreaths and floral baskets in the name of armed forces organs, social organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units and those of the Korean People's Interior Forces and scientific, educational, public health and media institutions, party and power organs, industrial establishments, farms and schools in the city.

The participants paid silent tribute to martyrs.

Military attaches corps here also laid wreaths and floral baskets on the cemeteries and before the tower.

Members of the corps laid bouquets before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese heroine, in the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and paid silent tribute to her.

Meanwhile, wreaths were placed before statues of martyrs, the Monuments to Fallen Fighters of the KPA and graves of martyrs in different parts of the country.
