At the talk, the prime minister said that the Vietnamese people warmly congratulate the Korean people, sincerely rejoiced over the great successes made by them in building a thriving nation under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Kim Jong Il.

The friendly relations between Vietnam and the DPRK were provided by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, he said, adding that the Vietnamese government will always support the just cause of the Korean people.

He referred to the fresh development made in bilateral relations after the visit of the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to the DPRK, hoping that the friendly relations between the two parties, governments and peoples would develop onto a new higher stage thanks to the common efforts exerted by both sides this year marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
