Summer Crops Harvest in High Gear
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- Harvest of various crops is at its height in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in this hot season.

The harvest of wheat and barley cultivated as earlier crops has already been finished in flat areas on the west coast in a short span of time.

North and South Hwanghae Provinces have finished the harvest in right time by rationalizing manpower allotment with various farm works done at the same time. Such achievements have been made in North and South Phyongan Provinces, too.

Many co-op farms which had already finished the harvest of wheat and barley have begun drying and storing grains in a scientific and technological way, harvesting potatoes, planting aftercrops and manuring their fields.

The Kosan Fruit Farm in a mountain area of the eastern part of the country is now busy with the harvest of early-ripening fruits. It has produced a high yield of fruits by applying quality manure and cultivating fruit trees as required by the Juche farming methods.

The harvest of tea leaves has also begun in Kangryong on the west coast.
