Summer Food
Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The hottest period of summer (from mid-July to mid-August) has begun in Korea.

The Korean people often drink mineral water and take health food to stand heat in this period.

Kangso, Sambang, Okhodong and other mineral waters are in good demand.

Such food as tangogi soup, young chicken broth with insam, pepper-pot chopped beef soup, hot rice and red-bean porridge, boiled barley and rice served with onion soup are popular in the same period.

In particular tangogi soup is easy of digestion and helpful in improving health, preventing diseases and standing heat.

A large number of people spend midsummer in spas, rest homes, sanatoria and camps. Restaurants specializing in national food are fully booked in the hottest days.
