Kim Il Sung Remembered
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings were held in Romania, South Africa and India between July 3 and 5 on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of demise of President
Kim Il Sung.

Speeches were made there.

Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, said that Kim Il Sung was the great statesman and father of the people who regarded the people as Heaven.

He went on:

Thanks to the President the state and the army in the DPRK were named with the word "people" and the most splendid and important edifices were also called after this word.

Though he passed away, he is always alive in the hearts of mankind for the undying feats he performed on behalf of the era and the revolution.

Bonakele Majuba, secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party and chairman of the South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People, said that the President set forth the line of independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in national defence on the basis of the people-centered Juche idea and built a strong socialist bulwark, thus clearly showing the road to be followed by the world progressives.

J. K. Patel, director of the Indian Institute for Foreign Policy Studies, said that the President is the genius of creation and construction and the tender-hearted father of the people who built the DPRK into a powerful socialist state.

In the meantime, the Russian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Malian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Peruvian Group for the Study of Kimilsungism and the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement arranged seminars on feats of the President on July 5 and 7 on the same occasion.
