Stop to Projects for "Improving Four Large Rivers" Demanded
Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- At least 5,000 monks of the south Korean Buddhist Jogye Order released a "declaration on life and peace" in Seoul on July 8 urging the puppet government to stop the projects for "improving four large rivers."

The declaration condemned the "government" for recklessly going ahead with the said projects despite opposition from people of various circles.

Lee Myung Bak should halt these projects at once and pay heed to the concern of the people about environmental pollution, it urged.

The declaration said that religionists would stage actions for solidarity with civic organizations to force the "government" to roll back its reckless development policy.
