Statue of First President of DR Congo Erected
Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The statue of Kasavubu, the first president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, was erected with the help of the DPRK.

A ceremony of unveiling the statue took place in Kinshasa on June 29 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the independence of the country.

Attending it were the president and high-ranking officials of the parliament, the government and the military and people from different circles and masses of the DR Congo. The ambassador and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Kinshasa and Korean technicians were present on invitation.

The governor of Kinshasa Province said in his speech at the ceremony that the able Korean technicians wonderfully erected the statue and expressed deep thanks for it.
