Martyrs Cemetery Built in Hyesan
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- A martyrs cemetery has been built at the foot of Mt. Ryonbong in Hyesan of Ryanggang Province.

Laid in state at the cemetery are remains of martyrs and persons of merit who devoted their precious lives to the struggle for the liberation of the country and its prosperity and reunification.

Among them are 12 anti-Japanese patriotic martyrs, including Kim Tok Ryong and Kim Jin Gyu, Kim Song Jin who was chief secretary of the Taehongdan County Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, DPRK Hero Ri Chang Do and Kim Jo Gyu who was a writer of the Writers Union of Korea.

A ceremony of unveiling the cemetery took place on Tuesday.

Present there were leading officials of party and power bodies and working people's organizations in the province, members of bereaved families, builders and working people in the city of Hyesan.

The participants laid wreaths and bouquets at the cemetery and observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs.
