Solidarity with Korean People Expressed
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Meetings of solidarity with the Korean people were held in Sweden, Italy and Myanmar on June 12 and 15 on the occasions of the 10th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

Present were personages of political parties and organizations and popular masses of those countries and the ambassadors and staff members of the DPRK embassies there were invited.

Speeches were made at the meetings.

Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, noted that the inter-Korean summit and the publication of the June 15 joint declaration were a fruition of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's bold decision based on patriotism and his tireless efforts.

He charged that the recent "Cheonan" case was a politically motivated farce orchestrated by the south Korean conservative forces to escalate confrontation with the DPRK and render the situation of the Korean Peninsula extremely strained, stressing that the progressive people of Sweden are opposed to the anti-DPRK campaign of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet authorities.

Roberto Gabriele, general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy, expressed the will to intensify the activities for solidarity with the just cause of the DPRK which is reliably defending the national dignity and the world peace and security from every aggression and war move of the hostile forces.

Aung Thein Lynn, mayor of Yangon in Myanmar, expressed belief that the Korean people would surely achieve the reunification of the country in the near future.

A message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting in Sweden.
