Int'l Solidarity March Held
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- An international solidarity march of youth and students in support of the just cause of the Korean people took place here on Friday on the occasion of the lapse of six decades since the start of the Korean War by the U.S. imperialists.

It was participated in by President of the World Federation of Democratic Youth Tiago Alexandre Ferraz Vieira and his party, delegations and delegates of youth and student organizations from Greece, Namibia, South Africa, Nepal, Germany, Laos, Lebanon, Syria, Sri Lanka, Senegal, India, Jordan, Spain, Vietnam, Palestine, Cuba, Cyprus, Portugal and other countries, delegates of the Latin American Continental Student Organization and the General Union of Arab Students.

Among its participants were officials of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League including its First Secretary Ri Yong Chol, youth and students and members of the delegation of the Korean Youth League in Japan.

The president of the WFDY said in his speech made prior to the kick-off of the march that the march would contribute to condemning the U.S. and south Korean conservative authorities' conspiratorial campaign against the DPRK and lifting higher the voices supporting the struggle of the Korean people.

The WFDY and the world progressive youth and students would stand by the youth and other people of the DPRK and extend positive support and encouragement to them in their struggle to check and frustrate the U.S. and the south Korean conservative authorities' escalated confrontation and war moves against the DPRK and achieve the reunification of the country under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration in the future, too, he stressed.

Its participants moved towards the Three Charters for National Reunification Memorial Tower, holding placards reading "Smash the U.S. nuclear confrontation against the DPRK!", "Smash the imperialists' aggressive war maneuvers and safeguard peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of the world!" and others.
