US Urged to Conclude Peace Treaty by Polish Party Leader
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Juzef Lachut, chairman of the National Executive Committee of the Polish Communist Party, made public a statement on June 18 on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

The Korean people defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country in the war and the U.S. had no other choice but to conclude the Armistice Agreement with the young DPRK, he noted, and went on:

After the conclusion of the AA the DPRK urged the U.S. on several occasions to replace the AA with a peace treaty while pushing ahead with the peaceful economic construction.

But the U.S. and its follower, the south Korean authorities, responded to it with the moves to provoke a new war.

Many years have passed since the end of the Cold War but the state of cease-fire lasts more than half a century and the danger of war still remains in the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. has persisted in the policy of nuclear blackmail against the DPRK up to now.

If the U.S. truly wants peace and co-prosperity it should sit face to face with the DPRK to discuss the arising issues in a candid manner and conclude a peace treaty with it.

The validity of the line and policy of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Kim Jong Il will be strikingly demonstrated once again in achieving the peace of the Korean Peninsula.
