Story of Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- One day in April Juche 77 (1988), leader Kim Jong Il received news that a young miner was on the brink of death by accident.

He was told that the patient fell unconscious after suffering a fatal wound and doctors had little hope of saving the victim.

He immediately took strong and detailed rescue measures.

He gave the local hospital instructions to keep the patient alive until a competent medical team arrived there from Pyongyang with first-aid medicines.

As soon as they arrived there, the doctors started operation to prolong his life at the initial stage and reported the result to the leader.

He sent a helicopter to bring the patient to Pyongyang and let doctors make preparations to prevent the worsening of his condition in flight.

Unfortunately, the helicopter carrying the patient began to shake heavily because of strong wind.

The helicopter was ordered to land on the nearest airfield.

The leader, foreseeing an unfavorable climate condition, sent a large passenger plane to the airfield.

He took measures to make a space for treatment inside the plane and keep doctors waiting at the airfield for way-stop treatment.

Thanks to his deep care, the miner came to his senses some ten days after he was brought to Pyongyang. Later he got well and began working again at the mine.
