Inter-Korean Declaration Supported
Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Personages of Benin and a regional organization issued statements on the occasions of the adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and General Kim Jong Il's Works who doubles as chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader", said in his statement on June 3 that the inter-Korean submit in 2000 and the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration were events of weighty significance.

The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors in south Korea orchestrated the sinking case of warship "Cheonan" in an attempt to provoke a war against the DPRK under the instigation of the U.S., the statement noted, urging the south Korean authorities to refrain from escalating the tension and confrontation and respect the north-south joint declaration.

Othieno Stephen, executive assistant to the general secretary of the Pan-African Movement, said in a statement on June 10 that the joint declaration provided by General Secretary Kim Jong Il is a reunification programme indicating the shortcut to the country's reunification by the Korean people's own efforts.

Expressing invariable support and solidarity with the inter-Korean declaration and the DPRK's proposals for the independent and peaceful reunification of the country, the statement resolutely rejected the recent reference to the UNSC of the "Cheonan" case, a fabrication of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities.

The Pan-African Movement strongly demands that the U.S. renounce its hostile policy towards the DPRK at once and come out for the improvement of the relations with the DPRK on an equal position and the south Korean authorities retract their policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen and opt for national reconciliation and unity, it said.
