The statement said that the June 15 joint declaration the keynote of which is the idea of "By our nation itself" is a programme for reunification in the new century as it clarified the most correct principle, orientation and ways for settling the reunification issue and a supreme banner of reunification as it comprehensively represents the general will of the nation and all the agreements reached between the north and the south in the past.

The statement denounced the present conservative regime of south Korea for having trampled underfoot the June 15 joint declaration and persistently blocked its implementation while desperately pursuing sycophancy and treachery and confrontation with fellow countrymen, thereby driving the inter-Korean relations to a catastrophe.

The puppet group's frantic moves for confrontation and war are aimed at effacing the June 15 joint declaration from the minds of the south Korean people and leaving it forgotten for good, it noted.

The political parties and organizations of the DPRK in their statement clarify the following principled stand to tide over the prevailing situation:

Firstly, it is of the utmost necessity to respect and thoroughly implement the north-south joint declaration, the nation's supreme programme for reunification.

Secondly, we will join hands with whoever upholds and supports the north-south joint declaration, not questioning about his or her party affiliation, political view and past doings but never pardon those who negate, defile and violate it.

Thirdly, the United States should neither obstruct the implementation of the joint declaration nor interfere in the issue of the Korean nation and the inter-Korean relations.

When all the Koreans turn out as one in a nationwide great and sacred struggle for reunification, valiantly meeting the challenges of the anti-reunification forces by their concerted efforts under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration, the gate to national reunification, their cherished desire, will be flung open, the statement said, and went on:

The June 15 cause of justice is sure to triumph despite ordeals, difficulties, turns and twists and the Korean nation will surely realize the centuries-old desire for national reunification before long under the sunrays of great Songun.

The political parties and organizations of the DPRK will as ever discharge to the last the historical mission and honorable duty they assumed before the era and the nation.

Availing ourselves of this opportunity, we express expectation and conviction that international organizations and governments, political parties and organizations of all countries desirous of peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula would extend positive support and encouragement to the will and efforts of the Korean nation to check and frustrate the U.S. and the south Korean puppet group's moves for confrontation and war, uphold and implement the June 15 joint declaration and achieve the reunification of the country as early as possible.
