Quadruplets Join Army
Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Quadruplets in Unjong-ri, Sukchon County, South Phyongan Province, joined the Korean People's Army in April.

The boys were born in the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital in Juche 82 (1993).

President Kim Il Sung sent such gifts as four silver-decorated knives, cloth, underwear, blankets, beddings, a gold ring and honey to the babies and their mother Kim Hyon Hui.

When they were in the hospital, eighteen doctors were in charge of them.

A two-storied and twelve-room house was built for them at the state expense.

The house is full of gifts sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il to them.

Kim Hyon Hui had a doctor in charge of her sons.

Even in the period of the "Arduous March" when the country was going through harsh ordeals, they were fully provided with rice, foodstuffs, protective goods, clothes, footwear and school things.

When they were graduating from the secondary school, they had different dreams of their future.

But all of them made up their mind to join the army to defend the country that they have owed so many things to. Their names are Paek Jo Song, Paek Guk Song, Paek Po Song, Paek Wi Song, their middle names meaning national defence.
