The U.S. Western Regional Committee in its statement accused the Lee Myung Bak regime of groundlessly linking the said case with the DPRK in collusion with outside forces and blocking the event common to the nation marking the anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration, thereby pushing the inter-Korean relations to the worst phase.

The statement recalled that since the day traitor Lee Myung Bak came to power, he has pursued the policy of confrontation with the DPRK even in the international arena, bringing to naught the precious successes achieved after the publication of the above-said declaration and, at the same time, driven the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of a war.

It urged the Lee regime to stop at once its anti-DPRK confrontation racket and smear campaign and war moves over the case of the warship sinking cooked up by it and take measures for inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation.

The United Confederation of Koreans in Far East of Russia in its statement demanded that the south Korean authorities immediately halt the reckless treacherous and anti-reunification acts going against all the fellow countrymen's desire and wishes for reunification.

It reiterated its will to vigorously struggle to achieve the peaceful reunification of the country and peace and stability of the peninsula together with the peace-loving people the world over.
