Sisters Dreaming of Becoming Famous Artists
Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) - Han Su Mi (19) and Han Pyol Mi (17) are sisters who desire to be famous artists.

They are studying at Pyongyang University of Fine Arts, the elder in the fourth year and the younger in the first year. They presented several art pieces, including Korean painting "Azalea," to the world juvenile art festival held in India in June six years ago to be awarded the silver prize.

The elder sister won the silver cup at the Pyongyang art festival held in commemoration of the 90th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the special skill prize at the national contest of members of fine art groups held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The younger sister came first at a national contest of members of art and calligraphic groups of schoolchildren's palaces and took the top prize at the first national pencil drawing festival celebrating the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, February 16.

The number of the trophies, diplomas and medals they have won so far totals more than 20.

Each of the sisters has her own individuality in sketching.

The elder is characterized by vivid and detailed description of figure and landscape, while the younger by sharp observation of objects and delicate and three-dimensional representation.
