Korean Fine Art Exhibition Opened in Austria
Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- A Korean fine art exhibition was opened with due ceremony at an Austrian Museum of Applied Art, Vienna on May 18.

On display in the venue of the exhibition were fine art pieces showing the wise guidance, immortal exploits and noble popular personality of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, Korean paintings, oil paintings, watercolors and posters dealing with the true picture of Songun Korea, a large panoramic map of Pyongyang City, a model of the Tower of the Juche Idea, photos of large monumental edifices and others.

Present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition were personages of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Economy, the Presidential Office, the Prime Minister's Office, the museum and the newspaper Der Standard of Austria. Also present were diplomatic envoys of various countries to Austria, the DPRK ambassador to Austria and his embassy officials and others.

Speeches were made there.

The curator of the museum expressed pleasure over the holding of the large-scale Korean fine art exhibition.

Saying that the exhibition would contribute to promoting understanding and developing friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries which have different political system, ideological sentiment and cultural tradition, the curator stressed that the exhibition would help many people know about the DPRK.
