In line with a state policy, places suitable for medicinal herbs have been chosen throughout the country and medical plants cultivated extensively in forests and herb farms.

With the beginning of the months for medicinal herb cultivation this year, the central, provincial, city and county headquarters have been set up to successfully carry on the herb-growing campaign.

The Ministry of Public Health has directed primary attention to reinforcing seed herb farms along with the increasing number of places chosen for herb cultivation.

The Ministry of Land and Environmental Conservation has dispatched officials to different parts of the country to select many forests for the cultivation of medical plants.

Medicinal herbs have already been planted in the selected places in South Hamgyong, North Hamgyong and other provinces.

The Pyongyang City People's Committee has sponsored a workshop for those in charge of herb cultivation at cooperative farms and industrial establishments in the city, helping them do herb farming in a scientific and technological way.

It has also provided them with a large quantity of herb seeds and bulbs to finish sowing in time.
