The statement noted that his visit to China provided an important occasion in re-confirming the will of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Government of the DPRK to consolidate the friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries and ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of the region.

It expressed belief that if the two countries strengthen the cooperation on the basis of friendship and trust, they will achieve great success in the struggle to realize the denuclearization of the peninsula, the main issue in achieving the global peace and security.
