Special Dishes of Kaesong Area
Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- Kaesong, a time-honored historical and cultural city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is famous for many special dishes peculiar to the area.

Thongil Restaurant located at the foot of Janam Hill is a typical one serving Kaesong food.

Choe Kwang Chol, 53, manager of the restaurant, told KCNA that such dishes as Kaesong sweet rice dish, beef soup with rice, kimchi wrapped in large cabbage leaves, broiled eel and honey cookie are popular among customers.

Insam liquor and Songak liquor are favorite drinks of local people, overseas Koreans and foreign tourists.

Special dishes of the city are also served at restaurants of the folk street and many other public catering establishments in the city.
