Popular Policies Enforced
Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- A nationwide telemedicine service has begun in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea some time ago as part of the universal free medical care system.

The DPRK has long enforced popular policies for the sake of public well-being.

Typical of them are the compulsory free education system, universal free medical care system, system of nursing and upbringing of children and the complete abolition of taxation.

Free education ranging from primary school to university is available in the country.

The Korean people enjoy medical care, including consultation, check-up, treatment, operation, hospitalization and medication free of charge.

Even the round trip fare is paid by the state for those going to and back from sanatoria.

The state also supplies the blue and white-collar workers and their families with food, school uniforms, footwear and other school things at a price next to nil and dwelling houses free of charge.

There are many other popular policies, including paid vacations, rest at sanatoria and holiday homes, social security system and management of nurseries and kindergartens at the state expense.

Such policies have been continued without interruption in the country under the care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
