Anti-reunification Moves Slammed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- The Civic and Public Joint Measure Committee against the Suppression of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) in south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on May 7, denouncing the group of traitors for its persistent moves to suppress the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.

Speakers at the conference referred to the fact that the police recently issued summons to Chairman Ri Kyu Jae, Secretary General Ri Kyong Won and Chairperson in charge of information service Choe Un A of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon on charges of violation of the "National Security Law" for the mere reason that they participated in the 11th meeting of the Joint Presidium of Pomminryon.

They charged that as part of the campaign to crack down upon this organization the security authorities conducted an investigation into the vice-chairman of the Democratic Labor Party, who was a leading member of the Kyonggi-Inchon Alliance of Pomminryon, and issued similar summons to the chairman of the Seoul District Alliance of Pomminryon and its several other leading members.

The above-mentioned meeting was a regular meeting which decided on the orientation of the one-year reunification movement and tasks, they noted. Branding the participation in such meeting as an "activity benefiting enemy" is nothing but an act of dampening the desire of the fellow countrymen for reunification, they said, urging the authorities to stop at once their persistent suppression of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.
