The statement said that the interpretation and examination of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula by the Western media are very unilateral, superficial and insufficient, stressing that the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry is a precious document which helps have a correct understanding of the Korean issue, the nuclear issue in particular, and, at the same time, an important proposal for the denuclearization of the peninsula and peace there.

Referring to how nuclearization started on the peninsula, its root cause and the contents of the said memorandum related to the nuclear policy of the DPRK, it expressed full support to the consistent efforts of the DPRK to denuclearize the peninsula and achieve durable peace there.
