Koreans' Protest against Discrimination Policy in Japan
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The actions of Koreans in Japan are going on in different parts of Japan in protest against the Japanese authorities' moves to obliterate their national education.

The Korean Youth League in Japan (Jochong), the Korean Youth Commercial Association in Japan (Chongsanghoe) and the Korean Students Union in Japan (Ryuhakdong) jointly launched information service and signature campaign and other activities in Tokyo, Nishi Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, Chiba, Gunma, Hyogo, Kyoto and Aichi on April 23 and 24.

Teachers and students of Kyushu Korean Senior Middle School conducted information service on April 24, urging the Japanese authorities to include the Korean schools in the tuition-free program for senior middle schools without discrimination.

That day those concerned with the Korean schools and other Korean residents and Japanese in Aichi Prefecture called an emergency meeting at which they adopted a resolution calling for jointly protecting the future of the students studying at the Korean schools.

Jochong, Chongsanghoe and Ryuhakdong in Osaka on joint actions against the moves of the Japanese authorities to obliterate the national education of Koreans conducted street information service on April 28.

Earlier, 25 civic organizations of Japan held an emergency meeting in Tokyo.

The organizations at the meeting called on all the Koreans and Japanese in the region to disclose and condemn in concert the injustice of Japan's policy of discriminating against the Korean schools and stage solidarity actions to cope with the grave situation.

Written requests to the prime minister and the minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan were adopted at the meeting.
