Authorities' Fascist Suppression Censured in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea released a statement on April 30 denouncing the puppet authorities' desperate moves to intensify the crackdown upon the progressive forces.

The statement charged that the authorities drastically beefed up the repressive forces in the run-up to the "election to the local self-governing bodies" and, on this basis, are now intensifying the fascist crackdown than ever before while getting frantic with the operations to arrest and investigate a great many reunification champions, youth and students and Internet subscribers and search and confiscate their belongings.

This is little short of self-exposing that the authorities are in their dying breath, thrown into a dilemma, it noted.

The public is filled with a will to judge the present regime without fail, the statement said, chiding the authorities for employing the same method as the successive dictators did to tide over their crisis.

It urged the authorities not to forget the miserable end the Syngman Rhee dictatorial regime met while seeking to stay in power through the suppression under the pretext of "security," etc.

They should bear deep in mind that their attempt to calm down the angry public with deception, fraud and threat will only invite stronger resistance of the people, warned the statement.
