Carried in the bulletin were a photo of Kim Jong Il, supreme commander of the KPA, inspecting a KPA unit and an article titled "The KPA, the defender of the sovereignty of the DPRK".

The bulletin in the article noted that the KPA founded by President Kim Il Sung won brilliant victories in two revolutionary wars and has firmly defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

Saying that the KPA has played a decisive role in carrying out the Songun politics pursued by
Kim Jong Il, it stressed that under his leadership the KPA has grown to be an invincible army strong enough to smash any aggression move of the imperialists at one stroke.
