Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Observed
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung published the work "On the Three Principles of National Reunification" on May 3, Juche 61 (1972), thus making possible for all Koreans to wage a dynamic movement for national reunification full of strong confidence and optimism with clear-cut principles and ways.

Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed article.

The three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity laid down by the President clarify the basic stand and ways for achieving the reunification of the country by the concerted efforts of the Koreans in conformity with their independent will and desire and interests, the article says, and goes on:

The three principles of national reunification have given strong impetus to the cause of independent reunification, enjoying unquestioned support of all the fellow countrymen for decades as a great programme for reunification common to the nation for its validity and vitality, and thus ushered in a new era of independent reunification, the June 15 era of reunification on the land of Korea at last.

The historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, are highly important guidelines for achieving national reunification on the basis of the three principles. The adoption of the above-said declarations and the shining successes achieved thanks to them in the June 15 era of reunification are a striking manifestation of the validity and vitality of the three principles.

The Korean nation should firmly abide by the three principles no matter what difficult and complicated situation it may face in the future and wage a struggle for national reunification strictly on those principles.

Lots of trials and difficulties still lie in the way of the struggle of the Korean nation to achieve national reunification but it is sure to be achieved as there are the three principles laid down by the President and the guidance of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
