Halt to US Nuclear Threat to DPRK Urged
Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- The Friendship Society Norway-Korea in a statement issued on April 20 denounced the "nuclear posture review" issued by the U.S.

The review once again indicated that the U.S. still remains unchanged in its ambition to dominate the world with nuclear weapons, the statement noted.

U.S. President Obama, when referring to the non-use of nuclear weapons against the non-nuclear states, blustered that an exception is made for the DPRK, the statement noted, branding his remarks as a provocative act of casting a chill over the atmosphere for resuming the talks as they diametrically run counter to the commitment made by the U.S. in the September 19 joint statement not to attack or invade it with either nuclear or conventional weapons.

It accused the U.S. of using the DPRK's withdrawal from the NPT as a pretext for justifying its hostile policy towards the latter.

Referring to the fact that the DPRK has developed its own nuclear technology for defending the country's sovereignty and the dignity of the nation from the increasing nuclear threat of the U.S., thus coming to have access to powerful nuclear deterrent, the statement added that this fact is recognized by the international community, too.

Friends of the DPRK in Norway strongly urge the U.S. to roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK, immediately defuse the nuclear threat towards it, build confidence between the DPRK and the U.S. and settle the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, declared the statement.
