The statement said that the uprising, which was launched in south Korea in April 1960 against the corrupt rule of traitor Syngman Rhee, a fascist dictator, was an eruption of the south Korean people's resentment toward the traitor and the colonial rule of the U.S. imperialists.

The April 19 Popular Uprising was an anti-U.S. and anti-fascist resistance and a struggle for the independent reunification of Korea, it said, adding that the spirit of the uprising still remains alive.

The statement noted that the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops are still present in south Korea and the fascist rule is going on there.

The organizations fully support the just struggle of the south Korean people for independence, democracy and reunification, it stressed.
