DPRK's Important Days Marked
Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- Meetings, lectures, book exhibitions, film shows, remembrance meetings and seminars took place in India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Cambodia and Tanzania between April 5 and 10 on the occasions of the Day of the Sun and the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

On display in their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and books introducing the vitality of the Juche idea, the Songun idea and the advantages of the DPRK's socialist system.

Speeches were made at the events.

The director of the Indian Institute for Foreign Policy Studies said that on the occasion of the Day of the Sun they pay respects to Kim Il Sung who made immortal contributions to the human cause of independence and Kim Jong Il who has successfully carried forward his cause, demonstrating the might of the DPRK.

The chairman of the Mongolian Centre for the Study of Juche said that Kim Il Sung enjoys boundless reverence from all people.

The rector of the ICC University of Technology of Cambodia noted that the Cambodian people always remember the mental and material support Kim Il Sung rendered to them in the struggle for the independence of Cambodia and building of a new society.

The chairman of the Tanzanian National Coordinating Committee of the Juche Idea Study Groups stressed that the creation of the great Juche idea by Kim Il Sung was a historic event as it opened a new era in the history of mankind.

The participants in the film shows enjoyed such Korean films as "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Pyongyang at Night".

A message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at an event held in Mongolia.
