US Moves to Modernize N-Weapons Blasted
Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The U.S. bellicose forces are mulling improving B-61 nuclear bombs and others again. The danger of these moves lies in the fact that they will spark a new nuclear arms race and the improved smaller nukes can be used anytime as conventional weapons.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article. It is the strategic goal of the U.S. imperialists to make preemptive strikes at those countries advancing along the way of independence against imperialism and those countries, which refuse to meekly obey them, any time with smaller nuclear weapons and bring them under their control, the article notes, and goes on:

The above-said moves assume more dangerous nature as their spearhead is directed to the DPRK.

The U.S. imperialists seek to deploy smaller nuclear weapons in south Korea, Japan and other places, to begin with. By doing so, they seek to put increased pressure on the DPRK with nukes and make preemptive strikes at its important underground facilities and others any time by use of smaller nuclear weapons. It was in pursuance of this scenario that the U.S. Department of Defense sent a fact-finding group to Japan and south Korea a few years ago to study the topography and geological structure of the DPRK. The U.S. imperialists are contemplating waging a war on the Korean Peninsula with smaller nuclear weapons.

If their moves are left unchecked, a nuclear war will spill over to Asia and the rest of the world.

The world peace-loving forces should go united and wage a positive struggle against the above-said moves of the U.S.
