The State Folk Art Troupe and the North Hwanghae Provincial, Nampho City and Kaesong City art troupes staged performances in the plaza of the Party Founding Memorial Tower.

Put on the stage were female solo "We Always Remember All Sorts of Hardships Undergone by the Leader", male quintet "Thunder over Jong Il Peak", mixed duet "Mt. Jongbang Is Famous Mountain of Love" and female folk solo "When Advancing under His Guidance" and other numbers.

The performers highly praised the sacred revolutionary career of President Kim Il Sung and the feats of Songun leadership performed by Kim Jong Il who has successfully carried forward the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe and the Jagang and South Hwanghae Provincial art troupes gave performances in front of the Pyongyang Grand Theater, stirring up the holiday mood. Among the numbers were female solo "His Smile Is Everlasting", female chorus "Beautiful Hometown" and other songs dedicated to the leader and the country.

Performances full of optimism and joy were given in the plaza of the Arch of Triumph by artistes of the Cinema and Radio Musical Company and the South Phyongan, North and South Hamgyong Provincial art troupes.

In the Mangyongdae Fun Fair acrobats of the Pyongyang Circus and local art organizations staged such numbers as physical stunt, comic acrobatics and juggleries.

Members of the art groups of the February 8 Vinalon Complex, the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, the Nyongbyon Silk Mill, the Pyongyang Underground Shop, the Phyonghwa Cooperative Farm in Kaesong City and the Wonha Cooperative Farm in Phyongwon County and the Haphung Coal Mine gave performances in different parts of the city.
