The statement recalled that some days ago the DPRK took a new step now that there is no way to resume the said tour.

It charged that the "Grand National Party" and the regime have repeatedly called for "three conditions" over the resumption of the tour of Mt. Kumgang and got more hell-bent on the suppression of the reunification movement, openly advocating the "principle of confrontation with the north" and creating the military tension.

The authorities are calling for "strong measure" to cope with the "derailed south-north relations" by someone though they brought tremendous damage to the nation, the statement pointed out, adding that it is no more than a disgraceful behavior intended to pervert the essence of the developments.

Expressing the resolve to do utmost to punish the GNP and the regime without fail and improve the relations between the south and the north and achieve their reconciliation and unity, the statement called upon all the people to give fuller play to the spirit of "By our nation itself" and conduct a more vigorous struggle.
