It was attended by personages of various organizations, including the Japanese Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung, the Japanese Women's Society for Solidarity with the Korean Women, the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, the Saitama Prefectural Council for Japan-Korea Friendship and Solidarity, the Japan-Korea Cultural Interchange Association and the Central Headquarters of the Japanese Side of the Fact-Finding Group for the Probe into the Truth about the Forcible Drafting of Koreans, and popular masses.

Present there on invitation were officials of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.

The participants of the meeting watched a video dealing with the revolutionary activities of Kim Il Sung in the period of the building of a new country and the postwar rehabilitation and construction.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The representative of the Japanese Women's Society for Solidarity with the Korean Women who is chairperson the Japanese Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung said that during her visit to the DPRK she was deeply moved to see all the Korean people exerting their inexhaustible efforts to building their country in single-minded unity. It was a striking reality of the DPRK in which the people have pushed ahead with socialist construction in the spirit of self-reliance by applying the Juche idea fathered by the President, she added.

The representative member of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, the deputy chief director of the Japan-Korea Cultural Interchange Association and the co-representative of the Central Headquarters of the Japanese Side of the Fact-Finding Group for the Probe into the Truth about the Forcible Drafting of Koreans called for widely introducing the feats of General Secretary Kim Jong Il who has developed in depth the revolutionary idea of Kim Il Sung while standing in the van of the struggle for independence and peace. And they expressed the will to strive for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and the improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations.
