Kim Il Sung's Life Resplendent with Internationalist Obligation
Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung, an outstanding and great man, has been remembered in Korea and other countries on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

He founded the Juche idea in his early years to clarify the principles of class, national and human emancipation and, with a strong sense of internationalist obligation, made a great contribution to the progressives' cause of independence.

As early as the 1920s he organized a struggle against the Jilin-Hoeryong railway project of the Japanese imperialists to expose and frustrate their aggressive attempt on the mainland China. He consolidated the anti-Japanese united front between the Korean and Chinese people and supported the Soviet Union, the first socialist state, with arms and assisted the Chinese people during their civil war.

The President rendered sincere assistance to Cuba, Vietnam and Arab nations in their anti-imperialist struggle and to African countries in their struggle for national liberation from colonial rule.

He encouraged newly-liberated countries to develop in their own way by giving them every possible manner of support for their economic and cultural development and building of armed forces.

Korean technicians and specialists dispatched to tens of countries helped them build such economic establishments as power plants, factories, rural communities and irrigation setups, as well as cultural facilities. And cooperation in different fields promoted the building of a new society in developing countries.

The great life of the President, who made strenuous efforts for peace, justice and progress of the world, is kept in memory of tens of thousands of foreign people received in audience by him.

His great ideas on global independence and strong sense of international obligation have been carried forward by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
