The speakers recalled at the service that student Kim Ju Ryol was killed by fascist maniacs while struggling for bringing down the dictatorial regime and achieving democracy during the "March 15 fraudulent election" 50 years ago.

This marked an occasion in expanding the struggle against the dictatorial regime, they added.

Noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration, the 50th anniversary of the April 19 Uprising and the 30th anniversary of the May 18 Kwangju Resistance, they declared that on these occasions the people would wage more dynamic actions for achieving the democracy of the society and the country's reunification.

At the end of the service, the participants staged a demonstration, chanting slogans "Let us defend democracy by carrying forward the spirit of the martyr!" and "Let us reunify the country by carrying forward the spirit of the martyr!"
