National Fine Arts Exhibition Opens
Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- A national fine arts exhibition on the theme of the revolutionary traditions was opened at the Pyongyang International Cultural Centre with due ceremony on Tuesday to commemorate the 98th anniversary of birth of President Kim Il Sung.

On display in the venue of the exhibition are fine art works dealing with the undying feats the President performed by establishing the glorious revolutionary traditions in the crucible of the great anti-Japanese war. Among them are oil painting "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung proclaiming the birth of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army", Korean painting "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung commanding the battle in Taehongdan" and graphic painting "Commander is also the son of people".

Also there are acryl painting "Great loving care" and oil painting "The battle site in spring" and other works on the noble leadership traits of General Secretary Kim Jong Il successfully pushing ahead with the revolutionary cause of Juche started in Mt. Paektu.

Korean paintings "Capture of arms" and "Let us wipe out the Japanese imperialists by the unity of the Korean nation" created during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and art works depicting Kim Chaek, An Gil and other revolutionary fighters who were intensely loyal to the President help the visitors deeply grasp the indomitable revolutionary spirit and optimism of the revolutionary forerunners.

After an opening speech was made by Minister of Culture An Tong Chun, its participants looked round fine art works on display.

On the same day the Songhwa Fine Art Exhibition was opened to commemorate the Day of the Sun.
