Korean Art Gallery Rebuilt
Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- The Korean Art Gallery was opened to visitors with due ceremony on Monday after being rebuilt to meet the requirements of the era of Songun.

On display at the gallery, established on August 11, Juche 37 (1948), are fine art works dealing with the brilliant revolutionary activities and noble virtues of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu, excellent works on the glorious course of the developing Juche-based fine art and a large number of fine art works on the brilliant culture and time-honored traditions of the Korean nation.

Present at the opening ceremony were officials concerned, employees of the gallery, creators and builders and the general manager of the Beijing Ji Shengchang Culture Co., Ltd.

An Tong Chun, minister of Culture, said in his opening address that officials and employees of the gallery contributed to enriching the treasure-house of national cultural heritages through display of fine art works listed as national treasure and intensified academic researches.

He noted that creators and builders successfully finished the project for reconstructing the gallery in a short span of time, true to the lofty intention of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

He also said that the said general manager made a contribution to the completion of the project.

At the end of the ceremony its participants looked round the exhibits.
