US Urged to Take Lead in Eliminating N-Weapons
Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- Public voices demanding U.S. nuclear disarmament are growing stronger worldwide. This indicates that it has become a main focus of nuclear disarmament and a requirement of the times for the U.S. to eliminate nuclear weapons at present.

Minju Joson Tuesday observes this in a signed commentary.

The commentary goes on:

However, the U.S. is reacting to the demand of the international community for nuclear disarmament by persistently sticking to its nuclear policy.

As already known, the U.S. committed itself to work hard for the total elimination of nuclear weapons in the world, talking about "an initiative for building a world without nuclear weapons."

If the commitment made by the U.S. before the world was true, there is no reason to fail to eliminate its nuclear weapons in Europe, the leftover of the Cold War era.

It is the nuclear strategy and policy initiative of the U.S. to monopolize nuclear weapons and hold supremacy in the field of strategic offensive weapons in a bid to establish an unchallenged domination over the world. In order to achieve this criminal aim the U.S. is posing constant nuclear threat to its rivals and the "potential enemies" after deploying its nuclear armed forces in the strategic strongholds of the world.

It is nobody's secret that the U.S. has seriously threatened the DPRK's right to existence and sovereignty since it deployed at least 1,000 nuclear weapons in south Korea.

All facts go to prove that the U.S. is chiefly to blame for having created the danger of a global nuclear war as it has not given up its wild ambition for dominating the world by nukes.

The disaster by nuclear weapons should not be allowed to repeat itself in the world and humankind can no longer be exposed to the threat of a nuclear war.

The U.S., the world's biggest possessor of nuclear arsenal, should take the lead in eliminating nuclear weapons. It should eliminate nukes in south Korea, to begin with, and, furthermore, withdraw all its nuclear weapons from various parts of the world and dismantle them.

The U.S. should meet the demand of the world for the full settlement of the issue of nuclear disarmament.
