S. Korean Progressive Forces' Struggle Supported
Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Progressive university professors and members of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea recently called for achieving solidarity and alliance to get progressive figures elected to "local self-governing bodies" in June. In response to this call, the opposition parties and civic organizations held a solidarity meeting to discuss a specific plan for unifying the candidacy.

Minju Joson Friday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

The progressive forces of south Korea can surely beat the conservative group if they go united. The solidarity sought by the opposition parties and civic organizations in the run-up to the "election to local self-governing bodies" reflects the mindset of the people who wish to see the misrule of the conservative group terminated as quickly as possible.

They are pushing forward the process of unifying the candidacy on the basis of the lesson drawn from history and this is in line with the urgent requirement of the prevailing situation.

The conservative group is now busy staging charades to create the impression that it had done something since its coming to power in a bid to divert elsewhere the people's criticism of it and garner their support. It is leaving no means untried to win a victory in the above-said election by intensifying the fascist crackdown upon the progressive forces.

The progressive forces will go united and finally succeed in unifying the candidacy and thus mete out a stern judgment to the conservative group through the election for having enforced a treacherous, anti-reunification and unpopular misrule.
