All Fields Called on to Steadily Push back Frontiers of Science

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- All the people in the DPRK should intensify the drive for pushing back the frontiers of science and technology by dint of their single-minded unity around the Workers' Party of Korea, the might of Korean-style socialism and the mental power based on the strong self-esteem of the nation and thus demonstrate the mettle of the DPRK before the world and bring earlier the historical day of the emergence of a great prosperous and powerful nation. This call is made by an editorial of Rodong Sinmun Thursday.

The editorial goes on:

Pushing back the frontiers of science and technology is a law-governed requirement of the age of knowledge-based economy and the most important goal of building a thriving nation. It is a realistic requirement for bringing earlier a great victory in the drive for a great surge to maximize the speed of advance.

The Workers' Party of Korea aims to hold its grip on the major levers of the ultramodern science and technology in the shortest possible time and put the DPRK in a legitimate status of a highly civilized power with strong capacity of development on the basis of the tremendous mental power of
Kim Il Sung's nation and inexhaustible creative ingenuity, enormous technological and economic potentials and successes achieved in the drive for a great revolutionary surge. This is its idea of pushing back the frontiers of science and technology.

Only when all sectors of the national economy make leaping advances to attain higher goals, pushing back the frontiers of science and technology in hearty response to the Party's call, is it possible to firmly take the initiative in the economic development in the new century, while consolidating the position of the DPRK as a politico-ideological and military power, and carve out a rosy future of prosperity on this land.

The DPRK will advance faster for higher goals of ultramodern science and technology as it has good and talented people having mental power strong enough to carry out whatever project determined by the Party to do, brave creative spirit and patriotic enthusiasm, the strong economic and technological potentials built by them, tightening their belts in face of stern trials and a large contingent of persons of talent.

The editorial calls on all of them to wage a bold drive for steadily pushing back the frontiers of science and technology in all fields, demonstrating the creative spirit of Songun Korea in response to the call of the WPK, and thus attain the high goals of modernization and scientization and successfully realize its grandiose plan for building a thriving nation as early as possible.
