Health Complexes Well-off in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Thirty years has passed since the Changgwang Health Complex (CHC) was constructed on the bank of the picturesque Pothong River in Pyongyang.

The well-equipped health center, opened on March 21, Juche 69 (1980) as a monumental edifice of the era of the Workers' Party of Korea, has a total floor space of some 38,000 square meters. It renders such services as bath, swimming, wading, haircut and beauty treatment, consuming thousands of tons of clean water on a daily average.

More than 55 million people have enjoyed its services over the past three decades.

After the appearance of CHC, many service centers modeled on it were built in the capital and each province, city and county, industrial establishments and rural communities. Some of them have been rebuilt on an expansion basis in the new century.

The facilities, called Undok Health Complex or Unjong Health Complex, are always full of people.

Even in the period of "Arduous March", forced march, they were operated without interruption.
