S. Korean Authorities' Treacherous Aim under Fire
Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- The issue of resuming the tour of Mt. Kumgang and Kaesong area remains unsettled due to the unreasonable attitude and stand of the south Korean conservative authorities, observes Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a signed article.

It goes on:

The DPRK's proposal for resuming the tour of Mt. Kumgang is aimed to meet the wishes of the south Korean people to see the famous mountain of the nation and to promote national reconciliation and cooperation and mend the strained north-south relations through that undertaking.

But, the south Korean authorities' approach is quite contrary to it.

The south Korean conservative authorities are dead-set against the resumption of the above-said tour in a bid to bar it from leading to the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and tighten the U.S.-led "sanctions" against the DPRK.

The group of Hyon In Thaek were vociferous that if the tour of Mt. Kumgang and Kaesong area is resumed, "they will prevent the money paid to the north from being diverted to the purpose of nuclear development" and "they are examining a proposal for making payment for tour not in cash but in kind." This balderdash was a revelation of their sinister intention to tighten the "sanctions" against the DPRK under the pretext of "transparency" in an effort to deliberately throw a hurdle in the way of resuming the tour.

The DPRK clarified its stand that it would be compelled to take a resolute measure if the south Korean authorities persistently block the resumption of the above-said tour under the far-fetched pretexts. Should the south Korean authorities continue to refuse the resumption of the tour, defying the DPRK's warning, they will be wholly accountable for the ensuing consequences.
