Magnesite Production Up
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- Magnesite production has been boosted in mines of Tanchon area, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The Taehung Youth Hero Mine has made a good job in the magnesite production and processing with a goal of fulfilling this year's plan by October 10, the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The June 5 and Western Pits of the Ryongyang Mine have steadily increased the productivity by putting stopes on large-sized and modern basis.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to mines of the Tanchon area several times.

When visiting the Taehung Youth Hero Mine in May Juche 98 (2009), he said that the mine, with a large deposit of high-grade magnesite, should be turned, in a far-sighted way, into the world's leading mineral producer.

Magnesite, badly needed for metal industry and other economic sectors, is abundantly deposited in Korea.

The Tanchon area alone is endowed with a deposit of billions of tons and has good mining conditions.
