S. Korean Policy of Confrontation under Fire
Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The inter-Korean relations are now in the grip of uncontrollable crisis. This is the inevitable result of the criminal "policy towards the north" pursued by the south Korean authorities.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.

The watchword of "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars" spelled out by the south Korean conservative authorities is a very sinister theory of confrontation as it set the settlement of the nuclear issue as a precondition for improving the inter-Korean relations, a heinous policy of aggression to realize the treacherous "unification of systems" and a wild ambition for invading the DPRK, the article says, and goes on:

This watchword is, to all intents and purposes, nothing but an echo of foreign forces' assertion that the "north should dismantle its nukes first." It represents the traitorous and anti-reunification policy of confrontation and war to do harm to the fellow countrymen by intensifying the anti-DPRK nuclear row in collusion with the U.S.

Pursuant to it, the south Korean ruling forces, a group of traitors, have totally banned dialogue, contacts and visits between the north and the south, claiming that they would adjust the tempo and width of the process to develop the inter-Korean relations and mode of promoting it, depending on "the progress made in the settlement of the north's nuclear issue." Such reckless actions brought to naught the precious achievements made in the June 15 era of reunification thanks to the concerted efforts of the nation and drove the inter-Korean relations to the worst phase of confrontation.

The above-said watchword is an extremely provocative theory of confrontation and war aimed to realize the wild design for achieving "unification under liberal democracy " by alluring the DPRK into "reform and opening" and escalating the confrontation of systems through an anti-DPRK smear campaign.

Differing systems have existed in the north and the south of Korea for the last several decades. Therefore, any act of seeking "unification of systems" on the part of one side while denying and slandering the other side's ideology and system can never be helpful to achieving national unity. This will bring nothing but an armed clash and war in the end.

The DPRK does never want to see the inter-Korean relations collapse. It will no longer remain an onlooker to the behavior of the south Korean authorities sticking to their anti-reunification policy of confrontation, justifying it. All the fellow countrymen in the north and the south and abroad will never pardon those anti-reunification traitors who are driving the inter-Korean relations to bankruptcy and collapse.

The south Korean authorities would be well advised to act with discretion, properly understanding the trend of the times and the desire of the nation.
