Rodong Sinmun on Imminent Danger of Nuclear War
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- There is an imminent real danger of the outbreak of a nuclear war against the north on the Korean Peninsula owing to Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises being staged by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean bellicose forces.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a signed article in this regard:

It is not hard to guess what disastrous consequences will be entailed by the attempt of one party to use force against the other party now that differing ideologies and systems exist and acute military confrontation persists in the north and the south, the article notes, and goes on:

The objective of the said joint military exercises is to examine the capability to conduct the operation for rapidly hurling the reinforcing huge U.S. forces into the Korean front from overseas and round off an adventurous nuclear war scenario to mount a surprise preemptive attack on the DPRK.

Therefore, no one can vouch that the on-going joint war maneuvers will not go over to an actual war to realize the above-said scenario.

If such war against the north breaks out, it will be none other than the Koreans who will suffer from it.

In order to prevent the danger of such war all the compatriots at home and abroad should unite close as one under the uplifted banner of peace against war and resolutely frustrate the south Korean conservative group's moves to escalate the confrontation with compatriots and launch a war of aggression against the north.

The DPRK sets store by the inter-Korean relations and desires the peace of the country, but does not beg for it.

Aggressors and traitors keen to bring a war to the inviolable territory of the country, indifferent to the destiny of the nation, will not be able to escape a merciless punishment.

The south Korean conservative authorities would be well advised to stop running riot, properly understanding the strong will of the DPRK.
