Stop to War Exercises Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress, the Confederation of Trade Unions, the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and other civic and public organizations in south Korea jointly called a press conference outside the commanding post of the south Korea-U.S. "Combined Forces Command" on Monday, demanding a halt to the anti-DPRK joint military exercises.

Noting that the U.S. and the south Korean war maniacs finally kicked off Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises, speakers at the conference branded them as a provocative act of blatantly going against the realization of peace in the Korean Peninsula.

The exercises, including drills for mountain warfare to help the U.S. and south Korean puppet troops familiarize themselves with the topography of the north, urban warfare, combined drill of marines and an exercise simulating a civilian-military operation in the area of the north, are aimed at invading it, to all intents and purposes, they pointed out.

They expressed the resolution to intensify such widespread struggle as rally and demonstration in protest against the war maneuvers.

On the same day organizations of various circles in Pusan, too, called a press conference to protest against the war exercises.
