World-famous Korean Painting "Leopard"
Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The Korean painting "Leopard" is a typical work of Kim Hong Do, a celebrated Korean painter in the 18th century.

The work, 109 centimeters long and 67 centimeters wide, depicts an unfolded leopard fur, symmetrical about its backbone line.

It gives a vivid representation of its thick hairs as well as large and small black spots with thin brushes, giving fine effects of light and shade.

The lifelike depiction reflects diversified drawing methods of the Korean painting and Kim's earnest working attitude and outstanding talents of skillfully applying different techniques and methods proper to subjects.

It is now on display at the Korean Art Gallery not only as a cultural asset of Korea but a treasure of the world.
